Founded in 1981, MYC Plage was created just a few years after the Sainte Croix lake was flooded, at a time when tourism in the Verdon was still in its infancy.
Thanks to unfailing perseverance, our founder gradually succeeded in equipping himself with increasingly innovative and high-performance equipment. By approaching a number of manufacturers, he eventually came across the Italian company Martini Nautica, which had started out in the 60s.
In the early days, there were no comfortable, unsinkable pedal boats. On the contrary, incidents were frequent, making pedal-boat hire particularly complicated. If it wasn’t the floats that took on water, it was the rudder that broke. This made a visit to the canyon more of an adventure than a gentle ride.
Martini Nautica has been able to continually improve thanks to invaluable feedback from the use of their fleet in the Verdon canyon. This fruitful collaboration has enabled MYC Plage to offer ever more reliable and comfortable pedal boats, making every ride a true experience of pleasure and relaxation.
Today, the MYC Plage team is proud to perpetuate the pedal-boat rental business, a family legacy founded by a passionate adventurer. After living in Mexico and Spain, he finally settled in the Verdon canyon, where he started his family. His children and wife now run the business with dedication and enthusiasm, sharing their love of this exceptional region with every visitor.
